Lost a dear friend Wednesday, June 25th. Gary-T aka Scorchiebeanie, or as I called him Scorch. We met on the Tower of the Hand, an online community dedicated to all things Ice and Fire by George RR Martin. The Tower, or Toth as we call it is an exceptionally close knit online community, it's every thing that is right and good in the internet. Seriously. A great place, with wonderful members, everyone. But Scorch, he was our heart and soul, and we are reeling from his loss, which was sudden, unexpected, and came just when he was finally overcoming terrible struggles to arrive in a place of great personal happiness and contentment. His sudden departure is a tragedy for all that knew and loved him. He was simply an awesome person, a talent photographer, an old soul, he was always ready with a humorous quip, a Mutley snicker, insightful remark or a kind word. He was always upbeat and positive despite his circumstances. He was instrumental, along with a few other posters, in getting me to put my art here, encouraging me to stretch myself as an artist, to give digital medium a try, giving me invaluable advice, and unconditional support. I don't think there is one piece of art that I placed here that he didn't fav.
The world is a sadder and darker place since his candle burned out. I will miss him every day.
Luckily his beautiful photographs remain here on his gallery as a testament to his ability to find beauty in the world, and to remind us to seek it as well
Miss you Scorch, good journey.
